POST Literacy Blog 4

Okay, I will be honest I only chose this book because it had food on it. I thought it would be about a teenage girl talking about her favorite food. After reading the book I found out she was talking about あんこ anko or red beans paste desserts (i assumed it was her favorite ). Throughout the book I believe she was explaining how she eats red beans in every season. She would wear a different outfit and explain where the red bean was in the dessert. I also noticed that her hair is shaped like a red bean. That is so funny. I love red bean paste. My family eats it a lot and now I want to try all the desserts she was talking about! They look so yummy.

  1. Yum!!! The name of the book あんこちゃん is like Miss Anko but it is also sort of a cultural play on girl's names. Until recently most names of girls ended with the sound KO written as 子(child) so obviously Anko would be a girl......
and even the word sweets (desserts) has the kanji too but the sound is SHI! お菓子 (okashi)

    I'm glad you like Anko!
